Franskmænd i Canterbury og tyskere i Brighton! // Frenchmen in Canterbury and Germans in Brighton!

// England is a country with many towns and cities with anything from high skyscrapers to ancient castles. It is always fun to visit London or Brighton, but sometimes it is also important to visit the smaller and more historic cities such as Canterbury. Canterbury is a historic English cathedral city, which used to be a major pilgrimage site in the Middle Ages. I went there with Laura (Switzerland) and Valentina (Italy). (It is honestly quite surprising how we three can spend day after day with each other since we are all pretty annoying individuals and even worse as a group..). Anyways, we all left together in the morning as we had slept at Laura’s place overnight where we had Indian for dinner. Super delicious food to a very good price as we all took the Monday Night Offer. However, with or without any deals, I would definitely recommend going there if you ever fancy a good Indian meal. The restaurant is called The Spice and is located at the end of Camden Road in Tunbridge Wells.
We took the train to Canterbury from Tunbridge Wells Station, and arrived in Canterbury around noon. One thing that Laura, Valentina and I have in common, other than being weird, hungry and sound machines, is that we are all explorers. We enjoy to visit places we haven’t seen before, and to be able to look back on this exchange year and say that we have been there and done that. We usually don’t have a plan on what to do or where to go, but that just makes the whole trip a bit more exciting. This time we walked up and down the centre streets, visited the ancient castle and prison, walked down the river walk, and spend some time in the gardens. We also had lunch at Little Joe’s Deli, which is a super chilled café with a great view (from the bathroom) to the Cathedral in Canterbury. The Canterbury Cathedral is one of the oldest and most famous Christian structures in England and form part of a World Heritage Site. Lately we have seen so many French groups, and Canterbury was no exception. They just seem to visit everywhere in this country.
Wednesday we had to go to Brighton to, yet again, meet our dear friend Juliette from Germany. She was here on visit just two weeks ago, but she was in England with her school and on Wednesday they went to Brighton, so Laura, Valentina and I therefore decided to go down there and spend a few hours with her when she had free time. First we just stayed in the shopping centre and had some lunch at Ed’s Easy Diner. We then later walked down to the pier. Juliette had to take the coach back to London with her school at four, so after our brilliant way of saying goodbye aka. waving goodbye with tissues, we three also left to go home.
